Please read these terms and conditions carefully. By booking a retreat with the School of Creative Wellness, you agree to the terms set out below.
Your retreat experience
During the retreat you may experience Forest Bathing, Yoga, Breathwork, Meditation, Sauna and Cold Water Therapy. If for any reason you wish to take time out or not join a particular session, you are responsible for yourself.
You will be on private land and agree to respect this land, leaving no litter or damage on site.
You are responsible for your own transport to and from the retreat site, and agree to arrive 10–15 minutes before the start time of the retreat.
Payments and refunds
All sales are final. Breathwork and yoga classes, packages, retreats and all other purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable. Purchases can only be used within their specified validity.
Class size
Private classes are one-to-one. Group class sizes are determined by the instructor.
Start and end times
Start and end times are fixed. If you arrive late (no more than 5 minutes after the start) or need to step away during an activity, the instructor will still end at the scheduled time.
Cancellations and changes
If you urgently need to cancel, please contact your instructor at least 24 hours beforehand via WhatsApp on 07770 846598. If we can accommodate moving your booking due to unforeseen, exceptional circumstances we will, but this is not guaranteed.
Health
Your instructor is not a clinician and cannot treat, diagnose or cure any disease, illness or injury. In all cases, students should join with approval from a trusted medical professional and follow their doctor’s advice.
Liability
Students take full responsibility for their own health and for any illness or injury that may occur. Students cannot and will not hold instructors, employees or affiliates responsible in the case of accident or illness during practice.
Privacy
You provide your contact information for registration, updates, marketing and communication. You can opt out and cancel or remove your data at any time by contacting the School of Creative Wellness by email. Please see our Privacy Policy.
Retreat booking terms
1. Contract
Your contract is with the School of Creative Wellness Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company registration number 14531933. Registered address: Southgate Chambers, 37–39 Southgate Street, Winchester, SO23 9EH. The School of Creative Wellness is referred to as “we”, “our” or “us” in this contract. A binding contract is only entered into when we issue a confirmation of booking. By contacting us to make a booking, you accept that you have the authority to bind all members of your party to these terms and conditions. It is essential that you check the details on the confirmation invoice and inform us immediately of any errors.
2. Payment for your retreat
Payment is made in full on booking to secure your place. Payment must be in the currency of the invoice and you are responsible for any bank charges.
3. Information regarding your retreat
Whilst we make every effort to ensure that the information on our website and elsewhere is as accurate as possible, details are often published many months before your retreat takes place. We reserve the right to make changes to the website and elsewhere and any information they contain. You will be informed of any material changes before booking. The School of Creative Wellness Ltd is only responsible for information contained within our own publications and websites, and is specifically not responsible for third-party information contained in any other brochures or websites.
4. Amendments or cancellation to your retreat by you
Amendments. We will do our best to assist you in altering your arrangements after booking but cannot guarantee this will be possible. If alterations can be made, you will be responsible for all extra charges and costs, and we reserve the right to charge a £25 administration fee per person plus any applicable charges levied by our suppliers. We also reserve the right to treat any material amendment made less than eight weeks prior to the retreat as a cancellation and apply the cancellation charges set out below.
Cancellations. All cancellations must be made in writing by the person who made the booking and are effective on the day we receive them. If we incur substantial costs and losses on a cancellation, we will apply the following cancellation charges:
- Between 56 and 43 days prior: 30% of the retreat cost.
- Between 42 and 29 days prior: 50% of the retreat cost.
- Between 28 and 15 days prior: 75% of the retreat cost.
- 14 days or less prior (or failure to join the retreat): 100% of the retreat cost.
5. Amendments or cancellations by us
Amendments. It is occasionally necessary for us to make changes to the advertised products and services, and we reserve the right to do so. In exceptional circumstances we may have to modify your retreat after booking. If the change is minor we will do our best to notify you in advance but are not obliged to do so, and no compensation is payable. If the change is material (for example, a change of room), we will notify you as soon as practically possible and offer you the choice of (i) accepting the alternative arrangements, (ii) arranging an alternative retreat with us, or (iii) cancelling your retreat. Whichever option you choose, we will pay you compensation as set out below unless the change has been caused by force majeure or low bookings and you have paid the balance in full.
- More than 43 days before start: nil.
- 42–29 days before start: £10 per person.
- 28–15 days before start: £20 per person.
- 14–0 days before start: £30 per person.
Cancellation by us. Whilst we hope we will never have to cancel your retreat, this does very occasionally happen and we reserve the right to do so. Should it be necessary to cancel, we will endeavour to offer alternative slots. Alternatively, we will provide a full refund within 10 working days.
Force majeure. Compensation will not be payable where an amendment, change or cancellation is due to “force majeure” — unusual or unforeseeable events or circumstances beyond our control, the consequences of which neither we nor our suppliers could avoid. These include, but are not limited to, war, threat of war, riot, civil disturbance or strife, terrorist activity (actual or threatened), industrial disputes, technical or maintenance problems with transport, machinery or equipment, power failure, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, flood, drought, adverse weather conditions, levels of water in rivers, acts of God, closure of airports, changes of schedules or operational decisions of transport providers, and government-led restrictions in the case of a pandemic.
Duty of care. We reserve the right to cancel a retreat on the grounds of duty of care. In the event of such cancellations being necessary we will notify you in writing or by other electronic means. Such cancellations will be made at our discretion, and a full refund of any monies paid will be made within 10 working days.
6. Prices
All prices advertised or quoted are per person, in pounds sterling unless otherwise shown, and are subject to change, up or down.
7. Exclusion of liabilities
We take care to ensure that all involved in the preparation and supply of your retreat maintain the highest standards. Accordingly:
- We will pay reasonable compensation if the product supplied to you is not of the standard described or contracted for by you. This compensation will be limited to no more than the retreat price of the person affected.
- Our liability to you does not apply if you or any member of your group is at fault; if the failure is the fault of someone else not connected with providing the services which form part of our retreat contract with you; if the failure is due to any unusual or unexpected circumstances beyond our control which we could not have avoided even if we had used all care possible; or if the failure is due to any event which we or the supplier of any service could not help, expect or prevent.
- It is your responsibility to store valuable items at the venue safely. Such items include, but are not limited to, ID, travel documentation, money, credit and debit cards, jewellery and electronic goods. We accept no liability for loss or damage to such items whilst you are attending the retreat.
8. Complaints
If you have any complaints about the venue during the retreat, please liaise with Susanna Edwards, Director of the School of Creative Wellness, who will do her best to help resolve any problems. Any unresolved complaints must be notified to us in writing within 30 days of your return.
9. Insurance
Your retreat with us does NOT include insurance, and it is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate insurance cover. In accordance with normal industry practice, we require you to have adequate travel insurance to provide accident and medical cover before your retreat starts. Such insurance should ideally be valid from the date of booking, be valid throughout the retreat duration, and financially cover any probable loss through cancellation, amendment, accident or health-related problems. You should ensure you are covered for all activities you are planning.
10. Special requests
Whilst we will endeavour to comply with any extra special requests, such as dietary and room requirements, we can only do so on a “goodwill” basis. Such requests are usually provided at the discretion of the relevant supplier, so we cannot guarantee availability and cannot be held responsible if they are not provided. Overnight retreat room requests are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
11. House rules
A strict no-smoking and no-vaping policy applies inside and outside of the property. Please be respectful of all furniture and fittings. Guests may have a responsibility to pay for damages at the discretion of the owner.
12. Excursions and activities
We are only responsible for excursions and activities sold by us and which form part of your retreat contract.
13. Jurisdiction
This contract is governed by English law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14. Data protection
In order for us to process your booking we need to store and record your information, including data as supplied. For further information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
15. Travel arrangements
We do not arrange travel for any of our retreats. It is your responsibility to make the necessary travel arrangements and, if required, to confirm your travel arrangements before your outward and return journey.
16. Booking
Your retreat booking will be confirmed upon receipt of the full balance paid.
17. Changes to the terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions without notice.
