Breaking Down the Silos: Our Groundbreaking Approach to Holistic Wellness at School of Creative Wellness

Here at the School of Creative Wellness, I'm not just talking about wellness; I'm actively redefining it. In a world that often keeps things neatly tucked away in separate boxes – professions, knowledge, and even our own well-being – I truly believe in the transformative power of transdisciplinary collaboration.

I'm here to tell you that solving life's greater problems, both within ourselves and in the world around us, isn't about finding a single "cure" or following one rigid path. It's about weaving together diverse threads of wisdom, support, and creativity.

This conviction is precisely why I am so incredibly proud to launch our RESOURCES page. It’s more than just a list; it’s a living testament to my philosophy, a carefully curated ecosystem designed to support intergenerational women on their unique wellness journeys, no matter what stage of life you're in.

Why This Approach is

Groundbreaking

The mainstream wellness industry often presents a fragmented view, focusing on isolated practices rather than the interconnectedness of our well-being. But for me, wellness is a broad, rich landscape.

My unique background in co-writing and delivering a world-leading master's program that used design thinking and collaboration to create "design for good" has profoundly shaped how I see things. I've now applied that same powerful philosophy to wellbeing.

This means I champion a truly holistic approach, understanding that nurturing your mind, body, and soul requires a diverse array of methods and tapping into a vast pool of knowledge and skills.

I'm not just offering services; I'm building a bridge to a wider world of support.

My list is a vibrant tapestry of emergency resources, personal contacts, small businesses I champion, and things that genuinely inspire me. Some are local to Hampshire, others are global, but all are united by their ability to help the world heal and inspire creativity, wellbeing, and transformation.

A Glimpse into Our

Diverse Resource

To give you a taste of the breadth of support you'll find on our new page, let me touch on a few examples:

For essential support when you need it most, I've included vital contacts like The Samaritans and Mind, because knowing where to turn in moments of urgency is a fundamental part of wellness.

When it comes to guiding your inner journey, I highlight exceptional professionals like Lucy McGivern, a psychotherapist specialising in trauma with approaches like EMDR, and Connect Coaching with Heather Mullin, who brilliantly uses creativity and play to unlock personal growth.

I also celebrate the profound insights of authors and researchers like Dr. Kristen Neff on self-compassion and Brené Brown on vulnerability and empathy – their work forms a bedrock for deeper self-understanding.

In the realm of women's health, you'll discover practitioners like Jasmine Hemsley, who blends ancient Eastern wisdom with Western well-being through Ayurveda, and Adele Wimsett of Harmonise You, supporting women, particularly those with ADHD, in understanding their hormonal cycles.

Beyond traditional therapy, I explore embodied healing through practices like Cranio Sacral Therapy – with references to trusted local practitioners and the UK's leading accrediting body – and the invigorating world of saunas and cold water therapy, featuring unique local spots like Tukha Talo and Wild Sauna at the Yard in Hampshire.

I am passionate about cultivating connection, so my resources also spotlight inspiring communities. From the JOMO Club promoting alcohol-free alternatives to platforms like The Womenhood and The Female Lead, which are actively empowering women through shared stories and challenging societal norms. And for those seeking daily wisdom, I even include The School of Life – a project very close to my heart from my former career.

For those who, like me, believe in the power of knowledge, our Bookshelf shares titles that have profoundly shaped my thinking, from classics like Marion Milner's A Life of One’s Own to contemporary insights from Sharon Blackie's Hagitude.
