Join Susanna Edwards, founder of the School of Creative Wellness (yoga teacher and former art & design academic and practitioner) and Alison McNaught (integrative therapist), for a series of transformative online workshops where you’ll learn to tap into your inner sanctuary through the powerful combination of somatic practices and creative expression. This unique collaboration harnesses the workshop facilitators broad based skills sets of psychology, yoga and creativity offering a beautifully holistic experience for participants.
This series of 4 weekly workshops is designed to help you quiet the mental chatter, connect with your body's innate intelligence, and unlock a unique pathway to self-discovery, emotional release, and profound mental well-being.
We’ll explore how feeling safe in your body allows you to drop inside, to feel held, supported, and loved, opening the door to a deeper level of listening and observation. For more info on this process read Susanna’s blogpost here.

Who This Workshop
is For…
This workshop is ideal for anyone with a busy life and mind, who is seeking a deeper emotional connection, who maybe finds it hard to find time or space be present with themselves, or is curious about exploring a more holistic approach to mental & physical well-being through body awareness and creative expression. You may be a healthcare or wellness practitioner interested in developing new approaches to processing and integration, or an individual wishing to experience deeper body awareness and new methods of self-enquiry.
No prior yoga or art experience is necessary – just an open heart and a willingness to explore. The creative outputs do not need to look finished, make sense, or be ‘artistic’- it is the process of translating the felt sense into words and images/ marks/ symbols that is key.
It is important to note that although Alison is integrated therapist this is not a counselling workshop, we will not be encouraging thinking or seeking answers, rather, we will be creating a safe space for people to drop into present moment awareness and the felt sense, to down regulate their nervous systems, to shift from doing into being and to explore this act creatively, without judgement and with self-compassion. What we do bring are different skills sets to the workshop.
Things may surface or be felt but we won’t be deep diving into problem solving. We will share additional resources and signposting if you wish to access other support. If you are suffering from severe symptoms of anxiety, grief or depression we recommend that you seek support from your GP and other services (visit this page for useful resources) and leave this workshop until you have received the support you need.
Over the 4 weeks we will practice this beautiful therapeutic process and the learnings gained from these methods of breathwork, yoga and mediation, automatic writing and drawing/mark making painting may help to form new habits and rituals for self-care. Patterns may emerge, you may start to notice what has previously been ignored, just by dropping inwards and listening to the body. This is a beautiful cross disciplinary approach that will suspend the judgemental mind and foster a deeper connection to your body and your natural state of being (homeostasis). It is a gorgeous place to inhabit where connections and discoveries can be made. This is for everyone curious about exploring the felt sense.
Only you can feel what you feel and Susanna and Alison will expertly guide you to feel safe and supported at every step in the process, there is absolutely no need to push hard, to try or to achieve in this time together. You have full autonomy to do what feels good, what feels right in the present moment whether that is taking some time out, just laying there and listening or completely surrendering to the processes as they unfold. It is your body, your choice, your felt sense. Permission is your birthright. Equally, there is no pressure to share your experience. we will not be critiquing or analysing your personal explorations.
Investment
These workshops run as a series of 4 consecutive weekly 3 hour workshops. Total investment for 12 hours of deep somatic and creative enquiry is £320
You will need to bring a notebook / sketchbook / paper/ pencils/ pens / paints anything to make marks on a page, maybe some collage materials / magazines to cut up and glue. Whatever you feel comfortable working with. No need to overthink this, we will be in touch before the workshop.

A free additional 75 min online yoga class for women with Susanna, available to book after the end of the workshop series.

Create your sanctuary, comfort is key, wear comfy clothes, have cushions and a yoga mat or soft surface, have a nice pen and basic equipment for writing/ drawing/ making marks/ maybe coloured pens/ inks/ paints. Come with an open mind, open heart.
