Yin & Restorative Yoga for Women - The Sanctuary Within

At The School of Creative Wellness, we offer Yin and Restorative Yoga classes for women who are ready to slow down, unwind, and cultivate balance in their lives. Based in Winchester, Hampshire—and welcoming women from across the UK and beyond—these Sunday evening classes are designed to support the nervous system, release deep-seated tension, and create space for rest.
A Uniquely Curated Sunday Practice
The Sanctuary Within is a 75-minute online class led by Susanna Edwards every Sunday at 7pm (UK time). Each session is carefully curated to help women down-regulate their nervous systems and reconnect with themselves through a blend of complementary practices:
Yin Yoga – long-hold, floor-based stretches using the breath and gravity to release tension in the body targeting the connective tissues, joints and ligaments.
Restorative Yoga – deeply restful poses supported by props to allow the body to completely let go.
Pranayama (Breathwork) – conscious breathing techniques woven throughout to support relaxation and inner balance.
Yoga Nidra Meditation– guided rest and mindful awareness to calm the mind and encourage deep healing.
Acupressure, Self-Massage and EFT Tapping – subtle practices to enhance energy flow, down regulate the nervous system and nurture self-connection.
Each element is designed to complement the others—creating a whole-body experience that soothes the mind, eases the body, and restores equilibrium.
What to Expect from a Yin & Restorative Yoga Session
Classes begin with gentle breath-led movement and yin postures, easing into deeper stillness with restorative yoga. You’ll explore long-held shapes supported by bolsters, blankets, and blocks, allowing time to soften and notice subtle changes.
Some sessions include self-massage or short mudra & mantra meditations to help anchor you in the present moment. The result is a calm, centered state that supports better sleep, emotional balance, and overall wellbeing.
